Hello i'm Alex or Stan - (choose one) This is the beginning of my roller-coaster story!

It was 7:30 on a Saturday morning. I was sitting in front of my computer still in my boxers when she burst open my door. She didn't even knock. In her morning cigarette voice, she announced, "Stan, I think you've lost your mind" No fully awake, I mumbled, "Uh…what? It was my roommate, Cyndi, who knew what I was planning.. She asked. "Stan, don't you watch the news or read the newspapers? You'll be kidnapped or murdered or both." Fair enough. My closest friends said I was insane. Sure, I had seen stories of many others who had been kidnapped, tortured, killed, or simply vanished. The U.S. State Department warned Americans of the danger. Of course I was nervous, but I resolved to take a chance, and just in case one of these unfortunate events occurred, I made a plan. The day before my flight to fear,

Hours and almost half a world later, the view from the window in seat F17 added to my mounting panic. I was in pursuit of another woman. Why do I keep doing this? Maybe I should have spent more time chasing my mystery mother, whoever she was.

Yeah, that was me in the mid-70s. Far out man! I didn't hire a narrator to voice my book. I had been talking to people on radio for almost fifty years, so it made sense for me to do it myself. You may disagree. Doesn't matter...I'm not doing it over again. I frankly don't know how book narrators do it. I would lose my mind.
